8 Hour Piano Marathon
Thank you to everyone who supported this one-off event. Those who gave a donation through sponsorship, those who turned up on the day – some of you even came along at 9.00am so that I wasn’t playing to an empty hall, and to those who supplied refreshments during the day. The target of playing for 8 hours was achieved although I did begin to wonder whether I would manage when my little finger on my right hand took cramp and I could not control which notes it played! I did apologise for the Les Dawson style of playing! However, the cramp passed and I must say I felt a great sense of achievement at 5.00pm as well as a great sense of relief that the 8 hours had passed! Something in the region of £1,100 was raised and I was overwhelmed when I realised that this was the result of my doing something I love doing! Once again, my grateful thanks.
