Rev Dougal Edwards was Ordained to his post as an Ordained Local Minister in the parishes of Barry and Carnoustie at a Presbytery Service on 10th September in Carnoustie Church. This was part of the Presbytery Plan for the Carnoustie Cluster and our minister was appointed by Presbytery to conduct worship and preach. We wish Dougal well in his new role
Rev Linda Broadley, minister of Dun and Hillside has retired, and conducted her last service on 20th October. She visited Carnoustie Panbride on a number of occasions as a member of the Superintendence Committee and Appraisal Committee. We hope she has a long and happy retirement.
Presbytery has committed to purchasing 90kg of Fairtrade Rice which will be sold at Presbytery. The money paid for this will enable a child in Malawi to attend school for a year. It is hoped that the local Churches in Carnoustie will be able to purchase a similar amount and sell the rice amongst the congregations.
The stall in the Panbride Hall organised by Emily and Abbie and the retiring Offering raised the magnificent sum of £436 for Diabetes Tayside. Many remarked on the way Emily shared her own story in church during the service. The girls were delighted with the support and sent a card to thank everyone for their help.
