¨ Rev Fiona Bullock (known to some of you as Fiona Brown) was ordained and inducted to the charge of Dun and Hillside Parish Church on Thursday evening 6th November. A goodly number of members of Carnoustie Panbride attended the service. Fiona joined Carnoustie Panbride by Profession of Faith in the early 1990s and was a Youth Group Leader before heading to London where she became a member of Crown Court Church. She was also part of the group which went to Bangladesh in 2004. This is Fiona’s first charge and we wish her and her husband Ian, well at this exciting time.
¨ HOST is looking for kind, friendly, hospitable people in Scotland whose imaginations are caught by the idea of welcoming an international student at university here, far from his or her own family, to their home. This could be for a day, a weekend or Christmas, and you don’t need to live near a university, as students will travel for the privilege of meeting you, learning about real life in this country, and sharing their own culture. HOST is a voluntary activity which makes ambassadors for international goodwill of us all. Please see www.hostuk.org or call regional organiser Anne-Marie Nicol on 01738 621633.
¨ NEW NAME. Carnoustie Community Church is changing…. But only its name! We’re still the same people and the church will continue to run the same way, but we are now going to be called Carnoustie Baptist Church. With our old name, we felt that not everyone recognised who we were or what we did, and the new name reflects our membership of the Baptist Union of Scotland. We look forward to continuing to partner with other churches in the town for the cause of the Gospel under our new name. (John Toller, Pastor)
