A big “Thank you” from Matthew.
2 months on, and I am still pondering how so many people managed to keep a secret – in Carnoustie!! The evening I reached 25 years since my Ordination and Induction to the charge of Carnoustie Panbride was a very special occasion. To be greeted in the hall by so many people was moving – and as many folk have said – it was the first time they had seen me stuck for words (at least for a few minutes!).
It was lovely to see friends from the staff at Carlogie School, folk from other congregations and many from Carnoustie Panbride. It was a wonderful evening and the buffet was much appreciated (as was the liquid refreshment!).
I was overwhelmed by the gift of the cheque and the voucher for Malmaison which we hope to use in the autumn in one of their hotels in a location we have never visited before. Thanks also to the folk in Condor Court who invited Frances and me to an afternoon tea-party in July and for their generous gift. That, too, was a lovely occasion. At the School Prize Giving, to mark 25 years as School Chaplain, Carlogie School presented me with a voucher for the Ganges Restaurant which has already been utilised! Thank you, one and all. Matthew
