When David Lunan was Moderator of the General Assembly, he invited Presbytery Clerks to a reception in the Moderator’s Flat. I was Presbytery Clerk at the time and during the evening he challenged each Presbytery to raise £10,000 for the Church of Scotland HIV/Aids Project which supports churches across the world working with people with HIV/Aids. There are now 33 Million people affected worldwide. On 10th January across the Church of Scotland there is to be a Souper Sunday. The Service which will highlight the work of the Project is to be led by elders, and there will be a bread and soup lunch in the Panbride Hall after the service for which a donation will be invited. Please put this date in your diary. There will be more information given nearer the time. MSB.
