Cabaret and Curry

The Cabaret and Curry evening in November was a lovely evening of, well, Cabaret and Curry! The Choir sang some of the songs from “Joseph” as well as some Scottish Songs and Glasgow Street Songs (in which the diners joined in), Stan Beattie entertained, Marjorie and Matthew played some piano duets, Matthew did some solo piano, and we ate rice, dahl and vegetable curry together with some Bombay mix and refreshments. Thanks to everyone who came along to support this event. The sum of £370 was raised for materials for a work camp in Bangladesh in late summer next year. When Matthew was in Bangladesh in October the Bishops indicated that 6 people was the maximum they could have, and so those who went for an exposure visit were given first choice – and such was their enthusiasm after that visit that they all signed up immediately. However, those who had expressed an interest will have the opportunity on a future work camp as this is something the Bishops wish to develop. Thanks to everyone who helped in any way – it was a wonderful evening. Here’s to the next one! MSB
