Fortunately, we managed to sort out the weather for the 23rd March – the sun shone brightly as we started off for our first trip of the afternoon to Easthaven. Although it was blustery and the wind was chilly, 7 youngsters and 7 adults made the trip. Thanks to those members of the congregation who joined us on the walk and to those who had hot pizza and garlic bread ready for us when we finally returned to the hall. Thanks also to Alastair and Wendy Murray who made “facilities” available in their home for those who might require them!
We also took the opportunity to hand in the bunting for the Easthaven 800 project. There were banners from the youngsters and also from the Banner Group, and by the time you have read this, you will have been able to see all the bunting in the Library.
Before the walk, we looked at some Fairtrade issues and also the importance of Water and looked at the Count Your Blessings Lent material from Christian Aid. We have now finished for the summer (although we may have a final get together sometime in May).
Oh, and the total so far raised by our walk to Easthaven was £700 which is a wonderful result. Thank you, one and all.
