Christian Aid Coffee Morning.

This will be held on Saturday 8th March in the Philip Hall from 10.00-11.30am. Donations of baking and unwanted gifts (wrapped) which are sold for a £1.

Fairtrade Group Open Afternoon.

An open afternoon organised by the Fairtrade Group (successful in achieving Fairtrade Status for Carnoustie for a second year) is holding an open afternoon in the Kinloch Care Centre, Kinloch Street on Saturday afternoon 1st March from 2pm-4pm. This will give folk the opportunity to taste (and purchase) Fairtrade products and also see the wonderful new facilities at the Care Centre.

Earth Hour 2014.

At 8.30pm on 29 March, hundreds of millions of people will turn off their lights for one hour, on the same night, all across the world in a huge, symbolic show of support for action on climate change and for a more sustainable future. It’s always a memorable and spectacular event with cities, communities and landmarks across the globe going dark for the hour.

You can take part in this global event by coming along to Newton Church for 8.30pm. The lights will be put off at 8.30pm and the church lit by tea lights. There will be reflective music and readings to highlight the importance of our planet and our place in it. This is the first time as an Eco-Congregation we have done this, so please come along and be part of a global event. MSB
