About us

Carnoustie Panbride is a congregation with a strong pastoral ethos, very much involved in the life of the community.

We see ourselves as a welcoming, friendly, and caring congregation who support one another as part of the family of God.

We take seriously the message, “All are welcome in this place”, and would love you to come and join us on a Sunday morning.

Life Events

Baptism

Baptism is always a joyful occasion for the person being baptised, for the family, and for the congregation.

Baptism is one of the two sacraments recognised by the Church of Scotland, the other being the Sacrament of Holy Communion. In the case of infant baptism, the Church expects at least one parent or other close family member either to be a member of the Church or willing to become a member.

Baptism is not exclusively for children. It is open to anyone of any age, provided that they haven’t previously been baptised.

Baptism is normally administered at Sunday worship in front of the congregation. This emphasises the nature of the sacrament as incorporation into the body of Christ and the life of the Church.

If you are considering Baptism for yourself or for your child, the minister would be happy to discuss it with you.

Thanksgiving and Blessing of a Child

The church also provides a service for the thanksgiving for, and blessing of, a child. The blessing ceremony takes place at morning worship following the same pattern as that for Baptism, except the wording and promises are different, and no water is used. Nothing is required of the parents in either commitment or belief.

Weddings

Our church is available to members and non-members for weddings.

If you are thinking of getting married in the church, please contact the minister who would be delighted to furnish you with more information.
